Friday Night Auction:
Why Your Support is Critical!
On Friday night of the Convention, MMOPA will hold its annual charity auction to benefit the MMOPA Safety & Education Foundation. This is the one and only time of year that we fundraise for all the important work the Foundation is doing.
The funds raised during the auction support the development of a new educational safety video series that will become crucial teaching tools for both new PA46 pilots as well as an excellent refresher for experienced owners.
This series, which adheres to the POH and factory guidance, covers systems, maneuvering/gust envelope, and other critical topics that are essential to the safe, efficient operation of the PA46.
Furthermore, the Foundation funds safety programming and events, such as MMOPA Safety Stand Down and MMOPA Uncowled, it supports initiatives such the Master Aviator Program. The goal with all of the activites is to work to bring the
accident rate down to zero, and to hopefully help participants be viewed more favorably by the insurance community.
Finally, the Foundation supports scholarships. This year, we are funding two scholarships for students with a financial need pursuing a career in general aviation. With our partnership with the University of North Dakota,
we hope to pay it forward to the next generation. If all goes as planned,
you will get to meet our first two scholarship recipients at the MMOPA 2020 Convention.
