delegation would like assignments based on the RRC’s report like in years past. The Council agreed to this. WCMS has invited MSMS staff member Rebecca Blake to attend next Wednesday’s meeting and provide updates about this year’s process.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT
Ms. Szlenkier provided an update from the work with the mediator/consultant, county executive directors, and MSMS senior directors. As referenced in Dr. Junck’s Board report, there appears to be concern over the level of productivity between the groups as of late. Dr. Junck stated that a few MSMS Board members discussed the perceived unwillingness by senior MSMS staff to own their portion of the blame in the problems and simply allowing the mediator meetings to “run their course” in the interim. Ms. Szlenkier stated she remains hopeful and is committed to finding resolution.
The Council discussed the communication from MSMS legal counsel Daniel Schulte that was distributed to WCMS leaders earlier this week. The
communication is related to the summer 2020 “ethics complaint” WCMS received from MSMS that was sent to the state by non-members. A draft response was considered and approved by the Council. The communication will be sent in the coming days by Dr. Joiner.
Ms. Szlenkier confirmed that the archiving task force (Dr. Joiner, Hopper, Dr. Gray, and Dr. Threatt) will be reviewing the office’s historical membership information over the summer following vaccination.
