As a not-for-profit, MSMS is a business advocate and practice resource for Michigan physicians.
LEGISLATIVE CLOUT:
Michigan’s leading health care advocacy organization is on the job every day, fighting for physicians and their patients in the legislative
and political process. MSMS’s lobbyists champion physician member’s interests, working against legislation that is antimedicine and strongly supporting pro-medicine regulatory and legislative outcomes.
MEMBER SAVINGS:
To help physician members navigate the possibilities (and save money during the process), MSMS offers
its Practice Solutions program.
This benefit provides considerable discounts on everything from insurance and credit process to office supplies and online marketing platforms for health care professionals.
EDUCATION:
With nearly 50 easy-to-view webinars and multiple on-site conferences
and seminars, MSMS allows member physicians to earn their CME at
discounted rates, when it’s convenient for them.
HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES:
MSMS members have exclusive access to a variety of human resources services to help navigate the pressures of compliance with
various employment laws, state and federal taxes, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation, and health and safety standards. MSMS members are also available to access a template employee handbook complete with forms and checklists.
PAYER ADVOCACY:
MSMS’s Health Care Delivery Department represents MSMS members on a number of advisory committees at the state and national
levels and serves as a liaison with health insurance companies. Through advocacy efforts and one- on-one assistance MSMS’s Health Care Delivery Department has helped Michigan physicians resolve payment and/or practice management problems,
as well as recover millions of dollars in third party payer claims.

Current, comprehensive, and uniquely tailored to the physician perspective, MSMS’s Health Law Library, sponsored by Kerr Russell,
is Michigan’s premier health law resource.
